Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles is America’s Port®, the nation’s premier gateway for international commerce and the busiest seaport in the Western Hemisphere. Located in San Pedro Bay, 25 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, the Port encompasses 7,500 acres of land and water along 43 miles of waterfront.

Handling diverse commodities from avocado to zinc, the Port of Los Angeles features both passenger and cargo terminals, including cruise, container, automobile, breakbulk, dry and liquid bulk, and warehouse facilities that manage billions of dollars’ worth of cargo each year. Currently in the midst of a multi-year, $2.6 billion infrastructure investment program aimed at raising the bar for cargo efficiency, the Port is also focused on new technologies to enhance digital information flow throughout the supply chain.

Port of Long Beach
The Port of Long Beach is the premier U.S. gateway for trans-Pacific trade and a trailblazer in innovative goods movement, safety, environmental stewardship and sustainability. As the second-busiest container seaport in the United States, the Port handles trade valued at $170 billion annually and supports 2.6 million jobs across the nation, more than 575,000 in Southern California, and more than 50,000 jobs – or 1 in 5 – in Long Beach.

The Port of Long Beach is one of the few U.S. ports that can welcome today’s largest vessels, serving 175 shipping lines with connections to 217 seaports around the world. Goods moving through the Port of Long Beach originate in or are destined for every congressional district in the United States. In 2019, the Port handled more than 7.6 million container units, achieving the second-best year in its history.

YTI operates a state-of-the-art marine container terminal in the Port of Los Angeles. YTI was established in 1991 at the Port’s Berths 212-218. The services we provide are stevedoring and terminal operations for The Alliance (ONE, Hapag-Lloyd and Yang Ming) as well as slot chartering from Evergreen, CMA-CGM, APL, COSCO and OOCL. As a full-service marine terminal, YTI provides modern technology, equipment, on-dock rail, storage facilities and Alternative Maritime Power (AMP®). YTI’s highly experienced management team are dedicated to efficient cargo handling with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction. We currently operate eleven, Post Panamax Gantry cranes including six, state-of-the-art Super Post Panamax Gantry cranes. YTI is committed to giving all our customers a reliable “Best-in-Class” service delivery as well as a complete suite of marine terminal services to the shipping and transportation community.

The International Seafarers Center of Long Beach/Los Angeles
The International Seafarers Center of Long Beach/Los Angeles (The Center) is a California non-profit public benefit corporation organized to provide and maintain facilities and services for the recreational, personal, and cultural needs of merchant seamen calling at the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles without regard to age, sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin. When seafarers call on either port, the International Seafarers Center of LB/LA provides a home away from home and our vision is to ensure that our Center is also "World Class" in order to provide seafarers with the best services available.

The Marine Exchange of Southern CaliforniaThe Marine Exchange of Southern California is a ninety plus year old, non-profit organization dedicated to the development and efficient flow of maritime commerce throughout the region. Our records of ship arrivals and departures go back to 1923 in a string broken only by WW II. Since then, we have evolved into the Maritime Information Center for the Los Angeles - Long Beach Port Complex. The Marine Exchange maintains a continuous 24-hour service, and utilizes a state-of-the-art, comprehensive, computerized database system to provide vital statistics and information on ships calling at the four major ports in Southern California: Port Hueneme, Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego; and the marine oil terminal at El Segundo.
