Letter From the President

Welcome to the Propeller Club of Los Angeles/Long Beach. Over the last several years, under the leadership of Sue Dvonch, we saw the Propeller Club of LA/LB transform to an up-to the 21st century organization. Group Concepts, led by Andrea Messina was hired to manage the day-to-day operations of the club, a new website was launched allowing members to sign-up to events electronically, learn about our Club and its offerings, become a member or a sponsor, and read about industry news.

Throughout the year the Propeller Club of LA/LB organizes monthly luncheons, and timely “101 Workshops featuring interesting speakers addressing topics focused on broad maritime and maritime support industry developments, in an interactive format. Our signature event, the Propeller Club/ILWU Seafood Feast, helps raise money for high school scholarships and provides the opportunity for management and labor to dine together and enjoy a fun evening on the waterfront, all for a good cause.

Founded in 1939, The Propeller Club of LA/Long Beach is the oldest maritime organization in the region and continues to serve its members with networking opportunities, educational programs, and the ability to keep abreast of the most important issues facing our ever-changing industry.

Looking ahead, together with your Board of Governors, we will be looking for ways to continue making the Propeller Club of LA/LB your desired go-to organization for networking opportunities, and as your resource of information.
