Anne Marie Kappel

Speaker Anne Kappel will provide an overview of the container shipping industry and the many issues that the World Shipping Council is working on that will impact the industry in the future.

Anne joined the World Shipping Council (WSC) in 2005 and provides expertise in communications, public relations, shipping industry information and shipping industry operations.  Anne brings over 30 years of experience in the container shipping industry and she is conversant in all public policy issues being addressed by the WSC.   She also monitors and collaborates with various stakeholders on issues related to adequate landslide infrastructure to support international supply chains. 

The World Shipping Council was formed in 2000 and is recognized as a respected industry advisor by governments regarding trade, safety, security, customs, environmental and other maritime policy. Following 9/11, the WSC and its member companies forged a close working relationship with the U.S. Government, the European Commission, and international organizations to develop new laws, regulations and programs designed to better secure international maritime commerce and the thousands of supply chains that importers and exporters around the world depend upon.
