Join us for an update on the tugboat industry, especially as it relates to environmental challenges and how the towing Industry is standing up to these challenges. There are many regulatory challenges that the tug and barge industry face on a day-to-day basis and Ms. Franco will discuss these issues.

Ms. Franco has also been VP of HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental), Human Resources and Administration since 2005, during which she implemented Quality Systems and attained ISO/ISM and AWO – RCP certifications companywide. She has customized and developed many innovative programs for Harley Marine Service, and has spearheaded the Company's drive guaranteeing continual improvement. Under her guidance, she has positioned the company for growth by ensuring system integration, centralization, functionality and continuity. She has also implemented environmental programs which have earned HMS a variety of national and state environmental awards; this has put them in the forefront of environmental leadership and stewardship. She is on the board of American Waterways Operators (AWO), Chamber of Shipping of America, and the Propeller Club of Los Angeles-Long Beach. Prior to her career with Harley Marine, Ms. Franco also has over 20 years of business management experience, has earned a BA in Political Science/International Relations from University of Washington, studied at the University of London, England, Universitaire D’Avignon, France, obtained an MBA from the University of Redlands, and studied Global Business at University of Cambridge.
